Your credit in today's world could mean the difference on bills, loans, and if you are going to be able to get a job. However, you probably do not even think about my annual free credit report and checking it out. However, by checking it out you can find problems before they become major issues. Here are some of the items you will want to check out.

The first reason is you can see who has been looking at your credit. By discovering who has been checking out your credit you will be able to find out why you have been receiving so many various credit card or insurance offers. You can also make sure that the checks have been legitimate and not someone that you might suspect of identity theft.

The second reason is that by doing this you can avoid any embarrassment that can come when applying for a loan. Nothing is worse than when you go to get a car loan and they tell you that your not going to be approved because you have an outstanding balance on a credit card that you didn't realize existed.

The third thing is you can make sure that no errors exist on your report. This is very important and something that your going to want to keep close tabs on. You probably have a credit card that you closed out the account on when you got married or divorced, but when you review your report you might notice that it is still showing up as an open account. If you notice that you will want to get that error corrected.

The fourth thing is that you will know what company to contact if you discover a problem. Discovering a problem other than a past account can be a major problem. The various types of errors that you can discover could be a debt from a company that you have never heard of before, if you have discovered that you might want to consider contacting that bank or company to get the issue resolved quickly and off of your report before it does even more damage!
