Discover Seven Great Movie Critiques For You To Check Out
In the'80's the initial videos came out and we were finally able to watch movies in the ease of our own homes. However, in the beginning for the most part people did not own their own Videotape recorder's and you had to lease a cumbersome machine along with your video if you wanted to watch at home. It replaced going to the theater but it wasn't any more convenient.
Adam's Apples – This movie is a odd dark comedy about two very diverse men who have a clash of wills. It is a recently developed religious fanatic versus a hard core neo-Nazi villain. The battle of good vs. evil is on. The key stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)
Number One with a Bullet – Carradine and Williams do well in this rather average action motion picture where we have hostile investigators out to dethrone a drug kingpin. Cast includes Robert Carradine, Billy Dee Williams, Valerie Bertinelli, Peter Graves, Doris Roberts, and Bobby DiCicco. (101 minutes,'87)
The Prince and the Showgirl – Relatively decent but slow moving comedy of saucy American show gal Monroe being courted by Prince Regent of Carpathia (Olivier) throughout the'11 coronation of George V. Filmed in England, with marvelous performances by Monroe and Olivier. Cast includes Marilyn Monroe, Laurence Olivier, Sybil Thorndike, Jeremy Spencer, and Richard Wattis. (117 minutes,'57)
Aladdin – Disney's animated Arabian Days story is refined through the feeling of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin brings up a Genie who's exploding with chatter. Williams' hilarious fast fire patter forms the centerpiece of this alternatively conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Cast includes Voices of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried, Douglas Seale and the harmonizing voices of Brad Kand and Lea Salonga. (90 minutes,'92)
Borderline – Unusual thriller comedy in which L.A. cop Trevor tries to assemble proof contrary to cunning drug smuggler Burr when mixing with hard gentleman MacMurray in Mexico. Starts out favorably, although eventually slows down in absurdity. Burr makes a articulate scoundrel. The cast includes Fred MacMurray, Claire Trevor, Raymond Burr, Jose Torvay, Morris Ankrum, and Roy Roberts. (88 minutes,'50)
Afurika Monogatari – Guide Sayer crashes his jet in wilds of Africa and comes upon a game conserve. Even old Jimmy is dreary. The film was filmed in Kenya. Cast includes James Stewart, Philip Sayer, Eleanora Vallone, and Heekura Simba. (120 minutes,'81)
The Bourne Ultimatum – In the third movie of the series, Jason Bourne is still being hunted by those who had trained him into the greatest assassin that he is. Having lost his memory when almost being murdered, Bourne is retracing his past to try to know who he was, and why everybody wants him dead. All his skills are put to the test, as the C.I.A. is relentless in its effort to have him eliminated. Starring Matt Damon and Julia Stiles.
